UK Consumers Love Shopping on Smartphones

Two recent reports have highlighted the latest ecommerce trends in the UK and it appears that UK consumers are more than happy to spend while on their Smartphones. Criteo released details from data gathered from 2015 Q4, which showed mcommerce (yes, this is a term) transactions accounted for 45.6% of the total transactions on their profile. Another report from Demandware, released in February 2016, showed that 32% of ecommerce orders on their platform were placed on Smartphones in the UK over the Christmas period.

The reports also showed that the UK is placing more orders via their Smartphones than those in the US (the only exception being over the Christmas shopping period), France, Canada and Germany. The UK is obviously happy to visit digital retails and spend their money from their favourite gadget.

Interestingly, data collected by Poq, shows that mobile apps encourage greater engagement and returned higher revenues per user, outperforming desktop sites significantly per user.

It’s clear that shoppers in the UK and overseas are feeling more confident about buying on their mobile devices.
