Google’s Mobile Friendly Algorithm Updating this May

Google Mobile Friendly Algorithm

Google are committed to making the web more mobile friendly. Their latest news update on the matter was released on March 16, 2016. They announced that as of the beginning of May, a new update will be rolling out that will affect the ranking signals for mobile search results. The aim is to help all users find the pages that are relevant to their search and mobile friendly.

Is it Time to Prepare for Mobilegeddon 2.0?

Don’t panic, the update is going to roll out slowly so you shouldn’t notice a massive drop off in mobile traffic. The mobile friendly algorithm takes time for Google to assess as it is a page-by-page signal. If you have already worked on making your website mobile friendly the update will not affect you. You can check to see if your website is mobile friendly by taking the free Mobile-Friendly Test.
