2019 is here and it’s time to look at a few of the marketing trends that are expected to make waves in the coming months. Businesses are beginning to look at their marketing budgets and consider the campaigns that will bring in more business and build brand awareness along with brand loyalty. So where should that money be going in 2019? Here are 3 trends that could work for your business.
Voice search is expected to increase this year. More homes and businesses are making use of devices such as Alexa and Google Home. Spoken search isn’t the same as written search, the phrases and sentences used are more complete. It’s time to optimise your website as voice search results are now showing up in the search engine results pages. Adding in key phrases used by your target audience when using voice search is going to be of value.
Mobile First Indexing
Mobile first indexing is rolling out and that means your website is being crawled for the mobile index results. The mobile version of your website needs to be at least on the same level as your desktop or given primary focus. If you have already put the work in to optimise your site for mobile and ensure it’s responsive you shouldn’t have any problems. If not, you may notice a change in your ranking and the number of visitors arriving on your site from the search engine.
Retailers will want to pay particular attention to this next one. Amazon is a large competitor to Google, and it is expected to become more so in 2019. According to a recent study by Kenshoo, 72% of shoppers in the US, UK, Germany, and France no use Amazon to find products they want and need. Bloomberg also found that over 50% of consumers visit Amazon first, and not Google. If you haven’t secured your place on Amazon it’s probably a good time to do so. Start working Amazon into your 2019 SEO strategy and do some research into how your target audience are finding products like yours.
These are just 3 of the SEO and digital marketing trends for 2019 that we expect to take off. Need to work on your strategies? Let’s put our heads together.
